1st Saturdays represents the 1st Saturday of each month as the official monthly volunteer day.

We call #1stSaturdays the “do now” strategy to advance any community towards #Familyhood.

Internally, 1stSaturdays, promotes each schools Student Government Association, Parent Teacher Association and Alumni to give monthly updates in their pursuit of increasing collaboration between themselves.

Externally, #1stSaturdays promotes community partners, local businesses to volunteer in support of the schools vision towards #Familyhood.

Since, many schools do not have these basic organizations functioning,  #Familyhood promotes all schools to start 1stSaturdays to monitor their progress towards establishing their basic orgs. .

We call #1stSaturdays the “do now’ strategy, because no matter where a school may be in its development of its own school based membership organizations, the school can still “save the dates” of all the 1stSaturdays of the year to plant the #familyhood vision within their school and their surrounding community.
