Dr. Martin Luther King Day of Service - January 19th, 2026

A man who fought tireless for humanity is honored each year around the world through volunteerism. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s Day of Service is January 19th, 2026. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was more than a “I have a dream” speech. He put his life on the line daily for civil rights,  while authoring books to document his journey/ideas. All of his books give the reader, an inside look into one of the world’s greatest thinkers/activist, while he’s in action against an unjust system. In his last book, “Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or  Community.” As we plan for MLK Day 2026, let’s share inspiring things about his work. What would he do today? 1stSaturdays seeks to expand MLK’s one day of service, a year, to one-day of service, a month. 1st Saturday’s is the official monthly volunteer day at schools.
